COVID Vaccination Information

This page is in place to provide current information regarding the COVID vaccinations, and our process for administering the vaccine to our Paramedics and EMTs.

GMR Update:

Contra Costa AMR Update 2.10.21

  1. Vaccinations are available for all employees. Clinics are generally Mon and Tues in West County and Fri and Sat in East County. Employees must have a reservation. Contact your assigned or zone Supervisor for details

  2. EMTs that want to work at the clinics MUST complete the COVID Vaccination Training class offered at OPS. These classes are through mid-Feb.

Contra Costa AMR Update 1.27.21

  1. We will begin staffing vaccination clinics in partnership with our allied fire agencies beginning February 1st. 

  2. The location and dates of the clinic will vary as this initiative evolves, but for right now we are participating in a clinic on February 1 and 2 at Valley Bible Church in Hercules, CA.

  3. We have been approved to train and deploy EMTs as vaccinators at these clinics. Training opportunities will be forthcoming within the next week or two.

Contra Costa AMR Update 1.20.21

  1. 2nd booster round of shots for those who received the first vaccine is coming and will be announced soon; Moderna second round vaccination peak efficacy 28 days and beyond (see CDC and manufacture details in links below)

  2. Anyone who passed/missed the opportunity during first round can still be scheduled. If interested reach out to your assigned or zone Supervisor

  3. Public vaccination clinic details, and our role in that process, is being discussed and logistics will be announced in upcoming communications; Stay tuned and be prepared to act quickly if you wish to contribute or participate

Contra Costa AMR Update 1.12.21

  • 2nd round of vaccinations are currently scheduled for the last week in January and the first week in February.  Those eligible for the 2nd shot will be contacted specifically by Operations.

  • Those that initially declined the vaccine, but are now interested in receiving the vaccine  are eligible to do so.  Those interested can contact their Direct Report Supervisor for further details.

Contra Costa AMR Update 12.29.20

  • We vaccinated over 300 Contra Costa County first responders at the 1st vaccination clinic held yesterday. There were no major incidents or delays. Thank you to crews that helped put up the extra cars on Monday, and to all the other folks that were on duty; we were able to cycle through 100% of our on-duty personnel that were assigned to receive the vaccine yesterday.

  • The schedule for the remaining clinics will be as follows:

  • If you initially declined the vaccine, but now would like to receive it, please contact your direct report Supervisor.
